Bus Driver

Purpose of the role:

The role of the shuttle bus service chauffeur is to provide the highest level of personalised customer care and service to all residents, internal employees / clients and directors in line with the agreed service standards and procedures.

Must have a category D driving license - drivers who have a PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) Licence or, a D entitlement to drive a bus commercially, this is a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).

  • To drive the shuttle bus service professionally, calmly and efficiently, ensuring the safety and security of the passengers at all times.
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections before and after each service
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle is maintained at all times
  • To provide a warm, courteous and prompt welcome on arrival for all passengers
  • Actively listen and respond positively to passengers questions, concerns, and requests using brand or client specific process to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.
  • Thank passengers with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
  • Be reliable, flexible, honest and a strong advocate for company and the client.

  • To carry out regular vehicle inspections and reporting and logging any details, regarding defects, damage or cleanliness as required
  • To ensure that a detailed daily log is maintained for any incidents, resident requests and shift handover.
  • To check, read and action e-mails and other requests regularly and on a timely basis.
  • To liaise and communicate with other team members and other service departments in a clear and timely manner to ensure service delivery and team work.
  • Encourage and motivate colleagues to perform their best, take responsibility for tasks and assignments, make decisions and provide input on possible improvements.
  • Taking ownership and liaising any resident requests as required.

  • A minimum of two years’ previous driving experience working in a customer service environment
  • Must have a category D driving license - drivers who have a PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) Licence or, a D entitlement to drive a bus commercially, this is a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).

£10 per hour starting wage plus tips
