General Store Assistant

PURPOSE OF JOB

We are a growing business based in Battersea looking for an ambitious General Store Assistant to join our team.If you like to work hard and can motivate and develop a diverse team, you’re going to find this a hugely rewarding role- and one with excellent prospects.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring that our customers receive customer service that exceeds their expectations at all times
  • Assist in keeping all retail areas clean, tidy and well presented.
  • Keeping the shelves stocked and looking presentable at all times.
  • Assist in the merchandising of the store.
  • Ensuring that all legal requirements are met, including but not limited to, temperature checks and cleaning schedules.
  • Following stock and date rotation procedures.
  • Receiving, offloading and organising stock items that are delivered on a daily basis.
  • Assist in maximising store sales
  • Assist with stock orders that are done on a weekly basis.
  • Training new starters.
  • Working side by side with the Store Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings and bank holidays 40 PW

Essential Criteria

  • Previous retail or customer service experience
  • Have good communication skills
  • Must be "friendly," "personable" and "customer-focused
  • Preferable 1 year or more experience having worked within a top supermarket chain.
