Data Analyst

Purpose of job

To produce data analytics and insights for the estate & asset management team, and the wider development company as required.

To help maintain & improve the business’ data systems (especially Salesforce), through procurement, development, system admin, and managing relationships with external providers.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage relationship with external Managed Service provider, including:
  • Liaising on requirements with internal Salesforce users; prioritising and allocating jobs/tasks to Managed Service consultant.
  • Scoping out larger projects in conjunction with internal users and external providers; competitively tendering work where appropriate.
  • Evaluating costs for jobs/projects, approving invoices.
  • Monitoring demand for work; raising up the requirements for more resources to the business as needed to ensure the level of service across the business is sufficient.
  • In addition to managing the workload of the external consultant(s), there will also be requirements to perform general System admin tasks yourself, including:
  • Adding and removing staff as users.
  • Monitoring the usage of licences and liaising with IT department to order more as user base grows.
  • Managing Permission Sets, Profiles, Sharing Rules etc. to control access to data to meet user needs and maintain data protection.
  • Customisation of standard objects - editing fields, related lists, page layouts, etc.
  • Managing web-to-lead functionality with web design teams to capture enquiry data.
  • Building custom objects for bespoke functionality.
  • Implementing automation via workflow rules, process builder, flows etc.
  • Setting up email alerts.
  • Cleaning and importing data from external sources and allocating to the relevant users/teams.
  • Building reports and list views for users to manage their data.
  • Building reports to export data for analysis.
  • Creating Dashboards for management to visualise data.

Data Analysis:

  • Working across the business on analysing and presenting data for a variety of different purposes:
  • Footfall data (Springboard footfall cameras).
  • Daily sales & loyalty data (Coniq).
  • Public wifi usage (Purple Wifi).
  • Residential sales, lettings, and resales data (Salesforce).
  • Data capture from the web & other marketing campaigns (Salesforce)
  • Creating & maintaining reporting systems and processes to provide management data as   required by the business - e.g. data reports, dashboards, visualisations, etc.
  • Use statistical modelling techniques to build predictive models to help with estate & asset management operations, and to analyse the success/impact of events, promotions, marketing campaigns etc.
  • IT implementation & system admin:
  • Working with external IT system providers and internal teams such as IT, estate management, residential sales, marketing etc., to implement IT systems to capture, manage, and produce data. (E.g. footfall cameras, daily sales monitoring, public wifi data capture.)
  • Some system admin roles associated with those systems, but primarily liaising with the different providers to maintain the systems.
  • IT procurement:
  • As new business requirements emerge for IT or data technology, it will be necessary to be part of the procurement process, helping to write the tender briefs to ensure that the proposed solutions produce the required data and fit into the current technology landscape, and working through the tender process to evaluate the proposals to select the best systems.
  • Data strategy & innovation
  • Working with colleagues in the estate & asset management, development company, and IT teams, and external agencies, to help shape the strategy for collecting and utilising data to maximise the asset potential.
  • Working with the Head of Estate & Asset Management to implement the data and technology recommendations for the retail elements of the estate, known as the 'Digital Placebook'.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel user.
  • Experienced with Salesforce in a system admin role.
  • Experience managing relationships with external providers of IT systems or services.
  • Experience with commercial competitive procurement of IT/data systems.
  • Experience project-managing or working on implementation of IT/data systems.
  • Proficiency with various types of databases or online SAAS software.
  • Proficiency with at least one scripting language (preferably Python) for managing, analysing, and visualising data, including:
  • Collecting data via API or from the web;
  • Cleaning data;
  • Moving data between systems;
  • Visualising data (e.g. with Matplotlib, Folium, Bokeh, Plotly etc.)
  • Statistical modelling.
  • Good understanding of data science techniques for predictive modelling, regression, clustering, machine learning etc.
  • Good communication skills, both with technical specialists and non-technical business executives.

£50k pa plus bonus, pension, private health & dental care
