Curated Makers is a fast-growing retail specialist on a mission to make it easy for people to shop from small creative businesses across the UK. Acting as a bridge between big and small retail businesses, we celebrate and support local makers by transforming empty shops into unmissable shopping experiences.
Our Shop Floor Assistants consistently deliver outstanding customer service and are true champions of shopping small. We're seeking individuals who are not just passionate and positive, but are also excited to showcase our amazing products and provide a memorable in-store experience to shoppers.
You'll go beyond the basics by listening to shoppers and asking insightful questions to understand their needs, enhancing their experience by adding details about the products’ makers, materials and processes.
You’ll be an ambassador, not just for Curated Makers, but for the hundreds of small creative businesses whose products we stock in our stores and you will embody our ‘think big, shop small’ values to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
● Welcome customers with your friendly approach, ensuring they leave the shop with smiles, the perfect purchase and a great impression of our brand.
● Have amazing product knowledge so you can help customers make the perfect choice, fulfil their gifting needs and secure sales.
● Keep our shop looking amazing and our inventory in check by restocking shelves and making sure everything is in its place.
● Make sure our store is clean, tidy and inviting to enhance our customers' shopping enjoyment.
● Enthusiastically engage in training activities and feedback sessions to further develop yourself and the business.
Customer Experience: You will need to radiate positivity and have a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Our stores are full of products that each have a human story behind them, and sharing this knowledge can not only make our customers' day but change their shopping habits. As a shop floor assistant it’s your job to add warmth to every transaction as to provide a memorable experience that reflects positively on us, our makers and the concept of shopping small.
Communication: As a Shop Floor Assistant, you’ll need strong communication skills and the ability to articulate the unique stories behind our maker's products. You’ll need great interpersonal skills in order to maintain a clear, respectful and approachable communication flow with the rest of your team. Collaborating with your Team Leader and engaging in two-way feedback will help nurture team and business growth. Alongside the two key skills above, you should show an attention to detail, be proactive, be adaptable and absolutely love working as part of a team.
