Full Time - 12 hour shifts
Salary - £13.44 per hour

Role and Responsibilities:
The Security Officer is responsible for the security, safety and welfare of building/estate inhabitants and visitors. The Security Officer will protect the assets in the building by maintaining a vigilant, pro-active security presence to minimize security risks to people and property. They will need to be able to spend reasonable periods of time during a 12-hour shift both on patrol and standing on post.

Role and Responsibilities:
The Security Officer is responsible for the security, safety and welfare of building/estate inhabitants and visitors. The Security Officer will protect the assets in the building by maintaining a vigilant, pro-active security presence to minimize security risks to people and property. They will need to be able to spend reasonable periods of time during a 12-hour shift both on patrol and standing on post.
- Ensure full understanding of the emergency procedures.
- Ensure full understanding of the assignment instructions.
- Ensure their post is correctly manned at the specified times. The includes being on post at the latest, the start time of your shift.
- Ensure all equipment under their responsibility is serviceable and in good working order, escalating to the Supervisor if not.
- Ensure all instructions, both written and verbal are adhered to.
- Provide security escorts to all areas of the building as and when required.
- Ensure a radio is always carried whilst on duty.
- Report any issues immediately to your Supervisor, DSM or Manager.
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner always.
- Ensure SIA licence is always on your person and on display.
- Control all aspects of access and egress to the building.
- Ensure those who should not be granted access to the building are professionally and politely prevented from gaining access or escorted from the building.
- Provide visitors to the building with helpful advice, guidance and information. And if not able to do so, direct to the correct personnel who can assist.
- Complete internal and external patrols as instructed.
- Assist in all types of evacuations and emergency incidents that may occur.
- Respond to these in a calm and professional manner. Actively provide information to any emergency services when requested to do so.
- Report security or safety issues to your supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Deal with conflict in an appropriate and confident manner, if required.
- Assist Supervisors in producing incident reports.
- Carry out ID checks in line with instructions issued.
- Carry out searches of areas and persons in accordance with assignment instructions.
- Be vigilant to the Health & Safety risks.
- Follow all reasonable requests for the Supervisor, Manager or any member of the Management team.
- Ensure you are immaculately presented, in accordance with company regulations and client expectations.
Strategic
- Assisting the Supervisors & Manager of creating & maintaining a Security strategy that meets the client’s expectations and company vision.
- This role will require significant interaction with clients, occupiers and fellow service providers. As well as interaction with external clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure that the building’s ‘One Team’ ethos is being pioneered throughout.

Training
- Undertake all training courses/modules requested. Such as emergency first aid.
- Provide first aid services (if qualified) to tenants, visitors, colleagues or members of the public.
- Assist in the induction and training of new team members.
Reporting
- Provide any security related reports, as requested by the Supervisors and/or Manager.
- Completing additional reports for Security Manager and Client Health & Safety Executive when requested.
Person Specification
- Previous experience not essential.
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative, often in challenging situations, as well as being a collaborative team player who will support colleagues and provide ideas to improve the whole team effort.
- Customer focused with a strong knowledge of customer service skills.
- Demonstrate a strong aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Excellent understanding of visitor management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Previous experience of Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- SIA Licence (Door Supervisor/Security) – Essential
- Emergency First Aid at Work – Desirable
- Fire Marshal/Fire Warden qualified – Desirable
- Customer Service Qualification – Desirable
- Heath & Safety Qualification – Desirable
